Quaker Challenge

In Meeting For Worship this morning, our Meeting’s Clerk issued us a challenge. Since I like to blog, I’ll be blogging my challenge results instead of simply writing them down.

The challenge is two-fold. First, at the end of each day, assess the day and find things to be grateful for specific to that day. Being grateful for my parents isn’t specific to the day, that’s a lifetime gratitude. Being grateful for a hug from a friend would be a gratitude specific to the day. Second, ask yourself what you did that day that was good – good for society, good for someone else, good for the Earth, etc. What did you contribute each day?

I set a reminder on my phone for 9pm each evening. The kids should be in bed by then and the majority of my day’s activities will be concluded by then, so I’ll blog about my day each night for the next 7 nights.
