Just Because: A 30 Day Blogging Challenge

I have big plans for this blog, yet I started it over a year ago and have only made a handful of posts. I have situations in my life that make it – shall we say, different? – than most people I encounter, and I love to write. Maybe doing a 30 Day Blog Challenge will be the kick in the pants I need to devote myself to my blogging and get a routine going.

Here’s the types of blogs I’ll be posting over the course of October. If you see this and get inspired to join in, please mention that with a link to your blog in the comments and I’ll be sure to check your blog out and cheer you on, too!

Day 1: My Blog’s Name: omaser.com/blog/kss: Just Because, Sharing glimpses of my life…

Omaser.com is my personal domain. The word omaser used to have a personal meaning, but it doesn’t anymore. I keep it around because I’ve had the domain for 20+ years and because I like that it’s a nonsensical word that I don’t see used in other places. When you see that word pop up, it’s almost always attached to me in some way. When I decided to start a blog, I decided to just host it on my own domain instead of hosting it on someone else’s or getting a domain specific to the blog.

KSS are my initials. My name is Kelly S. Spina. I don’t mind sharing that publicly, you can get that much from a whois search. http://www.www.who.is/whois/omaser.com

Just Because. It’s such a fun phrase! And a lot of people must seem to enjoy playing with those words if we use a Google Images search as a source:  < Google Image Search >

I didn’t want to lock myself into one niche beyond things that have touched and affected my life, so I wanted to pick a title that reflected that to an extent. I like that I can post about my pregnancy, my kids, my religion, and illness, and I’m still open to discuss romance, work, politics, etc. I’d like to consider my blog to be the kind of stories one would tell another friend when meeting for a cup of coffee / tea / hot chocolate. Light, entertaining, thought provoking, and informative; that’s my goal here with each blog post.
